PCS were delighted to host Round 2 of the Connacht branch of the ACCS Debating Competition today. The Portumna team, comprised of 5th Years Keelin Hassett McCourtney, Sadhbh Mechan and Mary Ellen Coen (already through on a bye to the regional final), watched as Clifton CS & Glenamaddy CS battled it out for the other place. After a hotly-contested debate, Glenamaddy emerged victorious; we eagerly await the final in mid-March. Big thanks to the judges, led by Carrick-on Shannon CS’ Principal Adrian Jackson, Paul Byrne, Secretary General European Heads School Association and Debbie Riordan ACCS.
