Week commencing 12th of May 2025

May 11, 2025

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As we head into the final stretch of the school year, we want to update you on some key events happening this week, as well as take a moment to acknowledge a fantastic achievement from last week.

Footloose the Musical – Congratulations!

A huge congratulations to all involved in our school production of Footloose the Musical, which took place on Wednesday and Thursday, May 8th and 9th. The show was a brilliant success, filled with energy, talent and teamwork. We’re especially proud of our Transition Year students and our Chamber Choir, who gave outstanding performances on and off stage.

A sincere thank you to the staff who brought the production together – Ms. Brogan, Mr. Smith, Ms. Keane, Ms. Murtagh and Ms. Aldous – for their incredible dedication and support throughout the rehearsal process and performances. It was a real highlight of the school year.  Well done to all! Special mention to all the volunteer staff/students over the two nights, the PA and the BOM also.

Huge congratulations to all who completed their Engineering practicals and LCA task interviews also last week. Another box ticked.  Well done.

This Week’s Key Events:

  • 2nd Year Lisbon Trip continues throughout the week. We hope all students and staff are enjoying a safe and memorable experience.

  • A Guided Cycle for the remaining 2nd Year students will be held on Wednesday morning (classes 1–3) with Mr. O’Donovan and Mr. Ridge.

Reminder that all students must get permission from their Head of Year or member of the SMT before signing out in addition to being collected/signed out at the door by their parents/guardian. Those students over 18 do not need a parent to collect them but still need permission from HOY or SMT to sign out- failure to do so is a breach of the code of behaviour.

Week 30 timetables will be distributed also this week by Ms. Kelly and students should have strict study plans in place for these along with setting target grades in all subjects using the Athena tracker/discuss these target grades with home and their class teachers.  Speak to our Academic Director Ms. Kelly if you need any assistance with same.

Thank you for your continued support throughout the year.

Warm regards,

PCS
