We are delighted to be able to offer second year students the opportunity to attend an invaluable workshop during as we commence a new school term. Cope Galway are holding their Vibe program in Portumna Community School. This workshop is offered in conjunction with Solas Og.
Solas Óg is dedicated to supporting children and young people impacted by domestic abuse and dating abuse. Solas Og aim is to raise awareness, promote prevention and early intervention, and educate young people in secondary schools and youth groups throughout County Galway through their Vibe Programme.
The Vibe programme targets young people in secondary school to complement their Social Personal Health Education (SPHE) and indeed the RSE program at senior cycle. It raises young people’s awareness and understanding about what makes a healthy and unhealthy relationship.
The modules are delivered by two trained children/young people’s support workers, who also have experience in delivering training to community-based projects and statutory agencies.
The Content of this Workshop includes boundaries and breaking up safely, signs and types of abuse, digital dating abuse stereotypes and relationships.
The workshop is age specific and tailored accordingly with regard to different groups.
The workshops will take place in Room on the following dates:
Group A Tuesday January 14th
Group B Wednesday January 15th
Group C Thursday January 16th
