Return to school reminders

August 18, 2026

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We hope you are enjoying the final days of the summer holidays. As we prepare to welcome students back from next Thursday onwards, please note the following important reminders:

School Calendar
The full school calendar is attached again. Please take particular note of school return dates and our Assessment Weeks (Weeks 10, 20 and 30).

****New Canteen Service****

A new canteen service will be available when students return, offering a variety of hot food before school, at morning break and lunchtime. Further details will follow.

Uniform
Uniform requirements will be monitored closely this year. Please note:

  • School skirts must be knee length or below.
  • The school coat is compulsory for all students who may wear either the school coat or school blazer.( With the exception of Sixth Years)
  • An alternative school puffa coat with a hood is also available from our uniform suppliers (recommendation from the student’s council 25/26)

School Fees & Lockers
Please ensure all school fees, including locker fees, are paid and up to date. Students will only be allocated a locker once the locker fee has been paid.

Books, Copies & Stationery
Please do not purchase copybooks or hardbacks. Students will receive their books and writing materials from teachers through the Free Schoolbooks Scheme during the first week.

For the first day, students simply need:

  • Full school uniform
  • School bag
  • Pencil case with basic stationery (pens, pencils, highlighters, whiteboard markers, ruler etc)
  • One small copybook/notebook for taking notes

Teachers will advise students of any additional stationery/writing materials or subject specific materials that may need to be purchased.

New Staff & Year Heads
We are delighted to welcome Ms. Niamh Brazil (Home Economics & Religion), Ms. Aine Stones (Chaplain) and welcome back Mr. TJ Brennan (Construction & DCG).  We also would like to welcome Ms. Fiona Cusack to the team as our new Clerical Officer.

Heads of Year for the coming academic year are as follows:

A reminder that school begins at 8:55am each morning. Students should arrive in good time to visit their lockers and organise themselves before classes begin. Punctuality is very important in helping students be organised for the day ahead.

Finally, we wish all of our LC students (Class of 2026) the very best of luck this Friday when they receive their LC results.

Regards,

Ms. Elaine Shanahan Dunne

Deputy Principal

Mr. Shane McClearn
