ACCS has informed the Board of Management of a planned one-day work stoppage on Wednesday, 14th October 2026 and Wednesday, 21st October 2026 by the trade unions representing various cohorts of staff, including teachers, special needs assistants (SNAs), and other school staff. On these days, pickets will be placed on all schools where union members are employed.
Should the one-day work stoppage on these dates (14th October 2026 and on 21st October 2026) go ahead, the Board of Management will not be in a position to discharge its responsibilities with regard to the care of students in its charge.
The Board of Management is therefore requesting you not send your son/daughter to school on Wednesday, 14th October 2026 and Wednesday, 21st October 2026.
The Board of Management regrets that this course of action is necessary. The Board has no wish to interrupt the education of students in this school. Should the situation regarding these one-day work stoppages change, the Board of Management will advise parents/guardians accordingly.
