Parents Association Update November 2025

Dear Parent/Guardians,

Following the recent Parents Association (PA) AGM and first meeting of the committee the following are the officer’s/committee members for 2025/26;

Parents Association Objectives 

1.                  To promote and foster good relations and co-operation between home and school.  

2.                  To promote the educational welfare and physical interests of the pupils.  

3.                  To help fundraise for the provision of extra equipment/ teaching aids and any events (i.e., TY musical) for the school as requested by school management.  

4.                  To act as a conduit between parents/guardians and Portumna Community School management. 

5.                  To inform parents/guardians of their role (rights and responsibilities) with regards to the school.  

 

The Parents Association is not a forum for individual complaints against teachers or parents. These issues shall be dealt with by private discussions between parents and the principal as per agreed procedures. 

The Parents Association does/will not interfere or have any involvement in the internal operation of the school or its decisions. All decisions are decided on and ratified by the PCS Board of Management.

The PA provide financial support to a number of student/school activities/events and would appreciate parents/guardians to complete a short survey re PA fundraising ideas:

The next meeting is scheduled for November 19th at 7 pm in room M and all parents/guardians are welcome to attend.
