Portumna CS Junior Cup rugby panel began their league campaign with a bang today away to Merlin College on a glorious day for rugby at Galwegians. PCS had the bonus point earned before half-time, four tries and two conversions under their belts. At the break all seven of our subs came on. By the time Merlin conceded and the ref called it 15 minutes in to the second half, we’d scored a point for every minute we’d played. The whole panel got a good run out, the standard of play was excellent, and PCS have announced they’re serious contenders this season. Proud of them. Big thanks to Mr Fogarty for accompanying us, all the help with training from PTRFC and parents Ian Bloomer, Mark Scannell, Mike Brady, and Mr Smith of course, and TY helpers Joe Scannell, Adam Mooney and Josh Power.
