Thanks to local Councillor Ivan Canning for giving a very interesting and informative talk to 5th Year Enterprise students today.
Ivan spoke about his role in the local council, his election campaigns and his highlights over his 12.5 year term on the council.
5th year students invited Ivan in for this talk after completing a report on Portumna and had the opportunity to ask Ivan on plans for the local area, especially areas they identified as concerning.
This was a great learning experience for the group, with Ivans parting words encouraging young people to vote and have a voice in their future.
